It’s our wedding anniversary and my husband planned my favourite afternoon high tea session at The Courtyard in The Fullerton Hotel. It’s our first time trying out their high tea.
Our family photo at The Courtyard
The main reason we choose The Courtyard is because there is a nursing room in the hotel, which most of the hotels do not have! As an exclusively breastfeeding mum, a nursing room is really important since my girl no longer allow me to use a nursing cover over her. Both the interior and exterior of the hotel is really beautiful and elegant. Most importantly, the ambience is very good to chill and relax.
Based on the price we paid, the quality of the food is just so-so (average). Compared to other 5-star hotels, the food here is not that fantastic. We had tried the afternoon tea at The Landing Point in The Fullerton Bay Hotel, and the food selection is similar. I couldn’t think of any differences.
The three tiers afternoon tea set
Upper tier: Vanilla creme brulee, Kueh lapis, Red velvet cup cake and English fruit cake
2nd tier: Smoked salmon mille feuille, avruga caviar,
Mini bagel, prosciutto ham, cheddar cheese
Brie cheese plum jelly pistachio, hazelnut cracker
Smoked duck, spicy mango salsa
Curry egg sandwich, brioche roll
Otak-otak sandwich, quail egg, walnut bread,
Classic cucumber, salmon roe
Lower tier: Lemon tart, Double flavoured macaroon, Chocolate eclair, Salted caramel chocolate tart and Raspberry financier
Scones and jams
The plus points of The Courtyard are the food is refillable; the ambience is nice; there is a nursing room and their service is really good. We told them that we preferred sofa seats as it is much easier for my little one to rest and play upon so without any hesitation, they gave us a large sofa seating even though it is just the 3 of us.
A surprise by my husband. I didn’t know there will be bouquet of roses for me. Love him max! ❤
The only bad point about the place is the ventilation is quite bad; it is pretty stuffy. The air conditioning is totally not cooling. I’m not sure if that is due to the warm weather outside.
My girl fall asleep (actually we switch on her portable fan:))
Among the food, the smoked salmon sandwich is the nicest. There are about 15 selection of TWG tea we can choose from. But my husband and I go for coffee. We do prefer coffee to tea. A cup of latte for me and a cup of black coffee for him.
Overall, we are pleased with the place. The price of the afternoon tea is SGD$43++ per pax. It comes with 2 cups of coffee or 2 pots of tea. The tea time from Monday to Friday is 3pm to 6pm. There are 2 seating for weekend and public holidays. The 1st seating is from 2pm to 4pm and 2nd seating is from 4.30pm to 6pm.
